OT (P.A.M.) series = pre-arranged for motor fitting
MOT series = gearbox pre-arranged for motor fitting complete with motor
OT series with solid input shaft= for in direct drive transmission through
belt, chain, gear drive or coupling
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The design has been carried out on the computer, by using modern and sophisticated programs of dimensional
check, strength calculation of gears, life calculation of bearings and
shafts, and structural strength of the unit.
The construction has been based on a widely extended
modularity, as well as flexibility and versatility of use and
installation.
The high product quality comes both from the design techniques, mainly aimed to optimising all the performance
parameters, and quality checks effected at all stages of manufacturing, assembling and on the finish
products.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Bevel helical gearboxes series OT (P.A.M) are equipped with motor assembling
pre-arrangement.
When the units are fitted with electric motor, they are called
MOT.
The bevel helical gearboxes OT with solid input shaft are used whenever the drive transmission to the gearbox is
indirect, through belt , chain, gears etc.. or through coupling thus effecting a connection to the primary motor by means of a more or less complex cinematic chain of
transmission.
MATERIALS AND HEAT TREATMENTS
All gears are made in case hardening steel (20 Mn Cr 5 or materials having similar strength and
hardenability), and are submitted to case-hardening, quenching and stress
relieving, aimed to giving high strength to static and dynamic loads and wear
resistance.
The hollow output shafts (standard solution) are made in nodular cast iron type GS-400.
Housing are mono-block and are made in G 25 cast iron according to UNI 5007, except on the size 56 made in pressure die casting
aluminium.
OUTER LOADS, EFFICIENCY, OPERATING CONDITIONS
All gearboxes are suitable to withstand high outer loads, both radial and axial
ones.
Dynamic efficiency is very high: 0.96 on the versions with two stages of reduction and 0.92 in the versions with three stages of
reduction.
It is possible to work in particularly severe operating
conditions, still assuring a satisfactory time of life.
BEARINGS
Input, intermediate and output shafts are all supported by taper roller
bearings, allowing a better adjustment of backlash and enabling higher strength to radial and axial
loads.
TOOTH PROFILE AND TYPE OF GEARS
The achievement of the highest performance rates has been got by means of an extremely accurate toothing correction and rounding of tooth
profiles.
The gearboxes of the BH series are equipped with two or three stages of
reduction:
The gearboxes with two stages of reduction have the input stage consisting a bevel gear pair with spiral Gleason toothing (Duplex type tooth profile ) and a final stage consisting in a pair of helical
gears, with an accurate correction of the tooth profile, aimed at the achievement of an optimised strength to
loads.
The gearboxes with three stages of reduction are made by adding an additional preliminary reduction stage even consisting of a pair of helical
gears, with an accurate correction of the tooth profile, aimed at the achievement of an optimised strength to
loads.
The OT gearboxes are even characterized by having low noise
levels, due to the compact construction and the optimised design and manufacture of
gears.
OPTIONS
Output flanges
All gearboxes of the OT series can be equipped, upon request, with output flanges in standardised dimensions (B 5
flanges), having a square shape on the sizes 63-80-100 and a round shape on the sizes 56- 125-160.
Backstop device
Upon request, it is possible to supply the OT units equipped with backstop
device, in order to prevent the reverse motion.
Output shafts
Upon request, the hollow output shaft can be supplied with a shrink disc, or alternatively solid output shaft can be
supplied.
Performance
Input power from 0,01 kW to 79,0 kW
Output torque from N.m to 4840 Nm
Reduction ratio from 9,83 to 599,01
Only the gearboxes OT with solid input shaft can take advantage of the max performance data, since they are free of dimensional bindings and of the standardisation of the electric
motors. |
