John Crane 5280W - Wet Lubricated Hygenic Vessel and Agitator Seal
The high product quality demands of the life sciences industry forces plant and component manufactures to develop innovative solutions. The 5280 seal family is especially designed to meet the requirements according to the rules of good manufacturing practise
(GMP). To achieve an easy cleaning and sterilisation in place (CIP and SIP) the product side sealing components project into the vessel. All wetted part materials conform to FDA requirements and are constructed to be self draining and to eliminate dead ends. Due to this special design the 5280 seal family does not fit on DIN vessel flanges.
The development of the 5280 seal family was based on the technical and modular concept of the CK 728/738 family
(s.a. CK 728/738 product information) and therefore the 5280 is available in wet lubricated, gas lubricated, contacting or non-contacting models for steel as well as glass lined vessels (Type 5281).
The concept also allows for modification on special metal requirements (Type 5282) or
non-standardised equipment such as side entry or bottom entry vessels.
