Due to the high level of automation, the complete monorail overhead conveyor system is inconceivable without innovative
controls. They take on the speed control and contactless control of asynchronous motors in rail transportation
systems. The Overhead Control Unit (OCU) combines the necessary intelligence and power electronics in a robust
housing. The system is designed so that you may also drive several motors with one
unit.
OCU controls – in addition to the usual block control of a system PLC–the distance between the vehicles on a monorail overhead
conveyor. Parameters may be entered individually. All applicable operation data, such as destination information, are exchanged directly via the busbar
contacts. Furthermore, inductive data and power transmissions are
possible. Customization for future applications can be implemented at any time by modifying the programming in the open IEC 61131-3 standard.
