METAL POWER.
The METAL POWER range grants a perfect seal and for this reason it is suitable to work into different industrial plants (chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refineries, off-shore platforms, nuclear plants, power plants, remote heating, steelworks, cryogenic plants, sugar and paper mills) at any kind of temperatures, pressures and fluids (even corrosive).
This range of valves grants a perfect "zero" leakage thanks to:
1) the couple closure that permits a continuous performance even in case of bi-directional fluid;
2) the seal ring that improves the tightness through the contact with the seat.
The shaft positioned out of the axis with reference to the seat centre line and to the valve axis creates the double eccentricity. The triple eccentricity is determined by the elliptical seat obtained as a cone section whose axis is tilted with reference to the valve axis. The triple eccentric movement avoids any friction during the opening and closure phase of the valve and it allows an equal pressure around the whole seat.
The powers created by the torsion during the closure became equal around the whole circumference. The seal ring flexes assuming the seat shape. The compression powers equally distributed around the perimeter create a tight bi-directional closure. The seal ring elasticity allows the body and the valve disc to contract and expand without seizure risk due to temperature fluctuations.
The valve manufacturing following the standards API 609, ISO 5752, ASME B16.10 allow the same to substitute (through a simple installation) other kind of valves previously included into the industrial plants.
The compactness and lightness represent other advantages of the butterfly valve, reducing the weight and dimensions in comparison with other kind of valves on the market. As the METAL POWER range is completely manufactured in metal it is intrinsically fire safe.
CONSTRUCTIVE VERSIONS
The METAL POWER range can be manufactured with the following connections:
- FLANGED with flanges at the two ends.
- LUG with threaded holes in the body. This connection is more compact and with lower face to face
dimensions.
- WAFER with four holes for the valve centering. Lightness is its main advantage.
- BUTTWELDING with two welding bevels made in accordance with standard and with the customer
requests. The welding bevels are equipped with centering ring for the positioning and line welding.
Upon simple request the customer we can realise special connections. |

Our design dept. works with the more sophisticated and
advances information engineering applications for the
realisation of the products. Thanks to these simulating
programs our valves are designed in 3D and their
structure is verified through the Finite Elements System
in order to obtain the simulation of a perfect
functioning.

The METAL POWER range is operated through an irreversible control that ensures the maintenance of the pressure on the seal when the valve is closed.
Our valves are suitable for the following kind of actuators:
Manual gear through reducer equipped with handwheel;
Electric equipped with reducer
Pneumatic with double or simple effect
Hydraulic with double or simple effect
Upon specific request of the customer we can supply operation systems different from those here above indicated or equipped following the customer requests.
In order to grant a perfect functioning of the valve Tecnica Industriale SRL carries out the calibration and assembling of the valve directly into its factory. |

Stellited seat
Upon request of the customer it is possible to cover the valves seat with Stellite in order to grant wider possibilities of application of the valve and to reduce the maintenance necessity.
Heating system
The heating system of our METAL POWER valves can be realised as follows:
1) through a heating external jacket (connections and materials to be defined with the customer) that will
allows a continuous temperature maintenance of the process;
2) through the holes on the shaft that allows the heating of the shaft, the disc and the seal ring.
Both heating systems (that can also be mixed) avoid the coagulation of more viscous fluids at low temperatures.
Shaft lubricating systems
A greaser placed on the upper end of the valve (near the stem bearings) allows the shaft lubrication.
TA-LUFT
Our METAL POWER range can be equipped with system to avoid emissions in the atmosphere. This insulating system called "TA-LUFT" can be supplied upon simple request of the customer. The above described result is obtained through the change of the packing ring. The valves can be equipped with Garlock EVSP 9000 gasket to avoid leakage during the helium proofs.
Live-loading
A careful shaft manufacturing, the insertion of special bearings for the shaft centering and the use of compression springs are the requirements to obtain a live-loading performance. This performance reduces the packing ring maintenance necessities.
Standard angular dial indicators
The insertion of a graduated indicator (placed on the actuator) permits to verify the opening angle of the valve.
Disc edge protector
A V-shaped bar placed near the disc opening allows a better fluid streamline and a protection of the upstream.
This protection can be installed only on valve designed in respect of ASME B 16.10 or using connection pipes.
Connection pipes
Connection pipes can be supplied upon simple request of the customer. |
